Vertical Sundials

The dial of a correctly executed sundial is not just a simple timepiece, but is the faithful mirror of the sky above it, the point where motion, time, shadow and light merge. The most fascinating form of time created in the most diverse formats and materials, in which the precision of celestial mechanics expresses the essence of time and the rhythms of nature. Sundials are works capable of marking time with the precision of one minute, but they must necessarily be designed for the place where they will be built. Vertical sundials are no longer as indispensable in order to get an exact measurement of time, and today are created as prestigious works to enrich gardens and homes, condensing thousand-year-old history and traditions in their dials, while also being free to show the more abstract and conceptual aspects of time.
