Frescoed sundial facing west
Frescoed sundial facing west, decorated with the portraits of the cat and dog Tolda, inseparable friends. The motto in Latin celebrates the happy hours to spend among friends. The wall on which the quadrant was designed faces almost perfectly west. The sundial hour diagram does not include the meridian line, but only the afternoon hour lines. The shadow of the golden sphere placed on top of the gnomon, moving on the diagram, marks the true solar hours of the place and shows the position of the sun in the astronomical calendar. On the right side the diagram was drawn with the minutes to be added to the solar time, marked by the shadow of the sphere, to obtain the time in our time zone.
