Homo Faber, between art and craft
from 10/04/2022 to 01/05/2022
The Michelangelo Foundation of Geneva presented an exhibition on the best international craftsmanship, entitled ‘Homo Faber’, in the location of the Giorgio Cini Foundation on the island of San Giorgio in Venice. To which I am honored to have been invited to contribute with the exhibition of one of my works.
In Venice, the event celebrates the art of creativity and craftsmanship.
15 exhibitions, 22 curators and designers, over 850 unique works created by over 400 designers and artisans from 43 countries,
It is a unique cultural event of international significance, the aim of which is to show the potential of “know-how”, enhancing the best of traditional and contemporary art crafts.
The initiative celebrates the man behind it, in a historical moment characterized by great changes, Homo Faber launches a message of optimism for the future, communicating a newfound confidence in the work done in a workmanlike manner, towards a future that is increasingly tailor-made. ‘man.
Passing through the halls of the Foundation, one appreciates the ability to enhance the artisan know-how, paying attention to the details and the quality of the product, preserving it with commitment from the homologation practices that the global market requires.
The uniqueness of the handmade product constitutes its greatest value. Offering the consumer the awareness that something more, something different, something personal can be asked of a product.
Finding these values in the luxury sector is not uncommon, looking for the same form of beauty in other sectors is the challenge.
